Ikwe (a.k.a Kelsey Pyro) is a Brooklyn based Black and Ojibwe artist from St. Paul / Minneapolis Minnesota. Ikwe has performed at Soundset Music Festival, Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, The Shed NYC, and more. To celebrate her heritage she decided to release art under the name Ikwe. Ikwe translates to “woman” in the Ojibwe language and “Makadewiiyaasikwe” translates to “a woman of African descent.”
